Barks and Trunks, Rainforest Trees of South-Eastern Australia, the first book in the series, has been produced because of the ever-increasing interest in rainforest trees.

This is the revised first volume.

Due to the large number of rainforest tree species, these books will help identify mature rainforest trees by their bark and trunk, and records these trees in their natural environment for their identity, natural heritage and value.

These trees were photographed by the author in rain forests of Victoria, Illawarra, Dorrigo, around the border regions of northern New South Wales, and rainforests west of Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The photographs in the books will giver the reader a closer appreciation of the different bark types, colourations, textures, trunk shapes, and an overall understanding of old-growth rainforest trees.

Along with timber descriptions and uses of days gone by, this book will help keep alive the spirit and heritage of the rainforest bushmen of yesterday.
